Where is the source code for this release? Are you able to add multiple graphs and datagrids with this version?

There are no distribution packages yet. You can always get the sources from googlecode.
All the bugs reported for previous version were fixed, and now you can add any components you want.
I am planning a commercial release of a component (www.imbizzi.com), and would like to include this for a better printing experience. Are there any limits to the use of FlexReport within commercial products?

FlexReport is release under LGPL. That means you can use and modify it as long as:
1. You distribute the sources (for FlexReport only, not your whole project).
2. You distribute a copy of the original license.
You are not even obliged to contribute your changes, although I’d be very happy if you did

Currently the latest version is only available through svn, Go to googlecode svn page and there you can find FlexReport and FlexReportDemo. You’ll need both projects as in this version FlexReport is released as a library, I have been quite busy and I couldn’t find the time to create the download packages or any documentation.
Hope I find the time to make the release very soon 
Create PDF is disabled in new version, how i can work with this feature?

I disabled pdf because of bandwidth consumption. To enable it just set pdfEnabled = true in FlexReportDemo.mxml.
OK, My problem is when I generate pdf files flex launches the following error: “The runtime script has timed out default of 15 seconds” I try to use -default-script-limits 15000 60 to solve the problem but persists.
Another question, it is posibble to view a pdf file in Flex?
I refer to a existant file.
I could point out any reference that I can be looking at the code for me to fix this procedure?

The application is generating the report but is not printing
When shown the FlexReport I click on the icon “Print” then you open a window “Select print range” when I click to print only the window is closed and not open the window of printing the browser that will send the command to the printer
How to define margins ?

The bug you pointed out is fixed now
To define margins use paddingRight, paddingLeft, paddingTop and paddingBottom in your report template. You can try changing the paddings in DemoReport.mxml.

the Flex Report is really great iam totally flattered by this and here i have one problem , the print is not working fine, it opens the PrintRangeWindow component but on the print btn click it will just close there is no print window, i looked at the code well but could not do it.
In the previous comment you have mentioned that it has been solved ,if it is then which files are changed to include them in my project , plz do help me.
The files appeared to be same in the link of googlecode there are no changes , which pages do i have to change or include or download from google code.

Hi…thanks so much for a great library! I’ve got my report all set up but when trying to actually print, I get an “End of File” error in the Page component at line 90 where it does the clone on the source. I have no idea why it’s throwing this error. I do have an item renderer in my printdatagrid that takes an image stored as a BitmapAsset in the data source. Could this be causing the problem? Can you please help me troubleshoot this?

That could be related to the image. Try using an embedded asset. If it works the issue might be that you’re are trying to print an image before it is loaded.

I modified my dataset to remove the images. I also removed the item renderer from my printdatagrid. Instantiating the Document object and passing my my data object still caused the same error.
A few other issues I found: If i set the dataprovider directly within my print component as you did in your example for the datagrid, your code gets stuck in a nasty loop at the capturePages method due to the validateNow() and the refresh(). I watched it in my debugger and it just got stuck in the while loop. If I comment those two lines, it gets out of the loop, but then fails again at the same place in Page Component with the same error.
The frustrating thing is that your demo works fine. I’ve tried to mimic everything you did and consistently get the “end of file” error.
What else can I check?

I found the problem! The class was not included it in the library. I has to be checked there explicitly!
I have another problem now - how can I print the selected view of a chart with scalable axes? Do I have to make a picture out of it?

I’ve modified your code in my project so that the pdf gets generated directly without a preview.
The problem is that the component which is passed as source, disappears from the main application once the pdf gets generated.

Hi Rohit,
You should instatiate the components specifically for printing, which means you should create a “duplicate” of the component. You can try use createComponentFromDescriptor method. Or you can just get an ImageSnapshot of the component you wish to print and use that image.

FlexReport is alive and kicking I’ve just not updated the code for the last month mainly due to lack of time and waiting for alivepdf 0.1.5.

Btw, I don’t know if this has been fixed or not. But if for example you switch the position of the image in the flexreportdemo from first to last, the report repeats the last page, one showing the image and the other without it.
I’m looking forward to see the new version.

I see your example uses long ArrayCollections and changes the page automatically.
When I try to pass ArrayCollections bigger than 25 rows, I get this error:
###RangeError: Error #2006###
Debugging you get this error on Document.as, inside the function capturePages, on the loop

It fails on the nexPage() call.

Sorry, another question. I’m trying to display an image inside a column in a ReportDataGrid column. I am passing it as an object who embeds the image, the same way the logo is displayed. I get the text of the source property.

HI iam using your reports they are working fine, but i have a problem here and its serious . The report Generation fails if my report data is large say i have some 100 pages to report here its failing may be its a bug.
The Error message says “The script has executed longer the default time limit 15 secs” i have set the scriptTimeLimit to 60 secs in App Tag , it does execute for only 60 secs but my Report requires still more time. Is This Possible ?
If possible plz make a commect , awaiting your comment , i tried using callLater() function but no use.

The issue with long reports is they take too long to be generated and Flash Player times out. I’ve been really busy lately, and have not devoted the time I wanted to FlexReport. If someone could solve the blocking issue it would be great.

I’ve got one question — I need to print out text layed out in two multipage columns. I’m not sure if it is currently possible, placing PrintTextArea’s in an HBox doesn’t work. Can you advise on whether this is possible in current release, and if not, which classes to look at in order to implement such a feature?
